The 1970s were a time of major development for Livingston County in Michigan. In fact, the period of 1970 to 1980 saw the largest increase in population in history for Livingston County, with 41,322 residents making their homes there. Terry and Carol Shermoe saw an immediate need for water conditioning services for all of these new homes.


Bryant Shermoe took over his family's business for over 40 years until 2025 when he sold it to Jeff Olson and family. Jeff met Bryant when he installed a Water treatment system at his house. Sharing several interests & hobbies, Bryant & Jeff maintained contact over the years from Jeff helping install systems here to taking his kids over to Bryant's to fish.


Jeff comes from a diverse working background. Post College Jeff started working two jobs, landscaping & Manager / Bartender at a family owned restaurant back home in Illinois before moving back to Michigan to work in the automotive industry as an Assistant Service Manager & Dispatcher. That led to being recruited as a corporate service director for General RV for 6 1/2 years. During Covid Jeff left the corporate world to be a stay at home dad for his now two kids before deciding 5 1/2 years later to take over Brighton-Howell Soft Water Co. while continuing to be a stay at home dad.


Jeff saw a great family owned business with tons of customers, many of which have become like family over the years because of the customer service provided by the Shermoe family. He wanted to continue that tradition & not let a good family business be sold out to a corporate giant.
